  • QWhat is SOSCON 2019?

    SOSCON 2019 is the 6th Samsung Open Source Conference, in which more than 1,500 software developers participate every year to share their knowledge and experience in open source. It is the best and largest conference in Korea where you can communicate with leaders and professionals in each field of open source and learn from them.

  • QWhen and where will SOSCON 2019 be held?

    This year, SOSCON events will be held on the Samsung Electronics Seoul R&D Campus (56, Seongchon-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul) for 2 days from October 16 to 17. Shuttle buses are available at Exit 5 of Seonbawi Station on subway Line No. 4 starting at 9:00 a.m. Regrettably, no parking is available, so please use public transport or the free shuttle buses.

  • QWhat time does SOSCON 2019 begin?

    The events start with keynote session at 10:30 a.m. with industry's most renowned leaders in the open source area, followed by various sessions, Robot Open Source Lab, open source community meetup and social event.

  • QWhat are the programs and events in SOSCON 2019?

    The events start with the keynote in the morning of Day 1, followed by various programs such as the the sessions, exhibitions, Robot Open Source Lab, open source community meetup and social event. When you register for the conference, you can participate in the sessions, exhibitions and open source community meetup. However, Robot Open Source Lab are provided only for those who register separately.

  • QWill I have access to the presentation materials of each session later on the homepage?

    Yes, the presentation materials will be posted on the homepage upon session speaker's approval when the event ends.
    A video recording of full keynote will also be posted when the event ends. Please note that videos will not be available for other sessions.

  • QWill simultaneous interpretation be provided during the event?

    Simultaneous interpretation for keynote session will be provide. However, simultaneous interpretation for other sessions, hands-on workshop, hackathon, and challenge will not be provided.

  • QWhen and how can I register?

    Registration period : From September 16 until there is a separate notice of the deadline
    Registration method : Enter the required information at Register for registration
    On the event day : Present the registration confirmation email or mobile barcode MMS at the Registration desk on the second floor of Tower A

  • QAre there any restrictions on participation in the event?

    No, anyone who is interested in open source software can participate in the SOSCON event.

  • QAre there any fees to participate?

    This is a free event. SOSCON has no participation fee to ensure that anyone who is interested in open source can participate without limitation.

  • QI was not able to register in advance during the registration period. Can I register on site on the event day?

    Due to the limited event space, on-site registration is only allowed for a limited number of people if seats are available after all pre-registered participants enter the site on the event day. On-site registration for the Robot Open Source Lab is not possible.

  • QHow do I register as a member of the press?

    Please contact help@soscon.net if you want to register as a member of the press.

  • QCan we participate as a group?

    There is no separate registration for groups. You have to register individually on the official homepage.

  • QCan foreigners register?

    Foreigners can register. However, no simultaneous interpretation in English is available for Korean sessions.

  • QHow is registration verified when you enter the event site?

    Present the registration confirmation email or mobile barcode MMS at the registration booth on the second floor of Tower A and enter easily.

  • QWhat are the special benefits for participants?

    Those who register for the SOSCON 2019 main conference can participate in the keynote, sessions, exhibitions and open source community meetup. However, Robot Open Source Lab is provided only for those who apply separately. Also, lunch is provided. There will be various souvenir and prize events, so we ask for your interest and participation.

  • QAre there any free shuttles to the event site?

    Yes, free shuttle buses are available at Exit 5 of Seonbawi Station on subway Line No. 4 starting at 9:00 a.m. Free shuttle buses are also available from the Seoul R&D campus to Exit 5 of Seonbawi Station after the event. Please refer to the bus schedule below.

  • QIs parking available?

    No parking is available due to the limited number of spaces at the event site. Please use public transport or the free shuttle buses if possible.

  • QIs Wi-Fi available in the event site?

    Wi-Fi is not available due to the characteristics of the event site..

  • QCan I have a certificate of attendance issued to submit to my school/company?

    Yes, visit the help desk (on the second floor of Tower A) to request a certificate, and then we will send the certificate of attendance individually to your email.

  • QIs lunch provided?

    Yes, lunch is provided at the canteen on the campus. Upon confirming your registration, we will let you know where and how to get lunch.
